indi chocolate

Located in Pike Place Market, this small-batch chocolatier produces a range of indulgent treats before your very eyes in its on-site factory. But the hot chocolate served in the cafe is a DIY job. Order a mug of the 72 percent single-origin chocolate melted into warmed milk, then personalize it with your choice of toppings such as toasted marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, and chili flakes. 1901 Western Ave, Suite D; indichocolate.com

Canon

Chocolate, wine, and flowers are a recipe for romance—and they’re also key components in the Bitter Petals cocktail at Capitol Hill’s renowned Canon. The intimate bar serves the gin-based drink, which also features Campari, byrrh (a red wine–based apéritif), and chocolate and elderflower liqueurs, with floating edible blooms in a glass orb. 928 12th Ave; canonseattle.com

Pablo y Pablo

Traditional Mexican dishes and a killer cocktail list are the draws at this airy, modern spot in Wallingford. In one of the menu standouts—crispy duck carnitas tacos—bitter Ecuadoran chocolate adds depth to the mole poblano sauce. Be sure to save room for the churros, which come with a spicy xocolatl chocolate dip. 1605 N 34th St; pabloypablo.com

Hot Cakes

The molten chocolate cakes, bubbling with fillings like salted caramel and peanut butter, are served hot straight from the oven at these cozy cafés in Ballard and Capitol Hill—and they’re well worth any line out the door. Order yours à la mode for deliciously melted results. Multiple locations; getyourhotcakes.com
