LANGSTON (104 17th Ave S) is a great place. LANGSTON’s mission is cultivating Black brilliance, and they host talks, plays, and films, so I think they are a very important group. Wa Na Wari (911 24th Ave) in the Central District is another important cultural institution in Seattle, and there you can experience various community events. They often have art displayed there.

I love going to Century Ballroom (915 E Pine St) and getting a nice cocktail and going to their open social dances. They have different lessons for folks to meet new people and have a nice time in a gorgeous ballroom. I particularly love to salsa, so I love to go there. A wonderful way to spend a Saturday or Sunday is to go downtown to Pacific Place to visit the Onyx Fine Arts Collective (600 Pine St). It’s a Black-owned art gallery showcasing global majority artists, primarily Black artists.

Vito’s (927 Ninth Ave) is an Italian restaurant that often has live jazz music. It has a real New York feel. The food is delicious, the beverage menu is expansive, and I’ve always had a really nice time there. My favorite dish there is the Bolognese: 10 out of 10, recommend to a friend!
