A Mix of Hotels for Meetings of All Kinds

If you’re looking for a comfortable place to hold your next meeting with many options for accommodation—look no further than the Emerald City.

Between 2018 and 2019, Downtown Seattle’s hotel supply increased by over 20% and an additional 5% increase is expected in 2020. Because of the city’s large number of hotels situated near the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC), Seattle has endless offerings for meeting planners looking for the perfect space to host attendees. From large-capacity and modern, to cozy and boutique, Seattle’s diverse hotels offer ample in-house meeting space and room for your attendees to stay and play.

LARGE CONVENTION HOTELS

Firstly, Seattle is home to several well-regarded large convention hotels—including the Hyatt Regency Seattle, Sheraton Grand Seattle, The Westin Seattle, Grand Hyatt, and Renaissance Hotel Seattle—all of which are within walking distance to Seattle’s best restaurants, shops, and landmarks, as well as to both Arch and Summit at WSCC.

The Hyatt Regency Seattle, which opened in December 2018, has 1,260 total guest rooms. It is now the largest west coast hotel, north of San Francisco. Each room is elegantly decorated with large windows, affording attendees an awe-inspiring impression of Seattle at every turn. The Hyatt Regency also has multiple restaurants on-site, including Andare Kitchen and Bar, that creates Italian fare with local ingredients, two stunning ballrooms, and additional boardrooms for a stylish addition to your meeting experience.

As well, the newly designated Sheraton Grand Seattle, which finished its remodel in 2018 and has a long history of hosting conventioneers in conjunction with WSCC, is well-optimized for your next meeting. The 1,236 guest rooms, the lobby, the lounge, and the 78,327 square feet of meeting space have all been recently updated, plus the hotel offers an abundance of amenities near WSCC, including a pool and hot tub, health spa, and bar, making it a perfect place for attendees to stay, relax, and network with colleagues. In fact, even before it was renovated, the Sheraton Grand Seattle was listed among the 100 best hotels for meetings in 2017 by Cvent.

The Westin Seattle is another option for large meeting groups, with 891 rooms available. Conveniently located by the Westlake Light Rail Station, The Westin Seattle, makes travel to and from the airport a breeze. Plus, it offers a FedEx Business Center and has instituted planet-friendly operations to reduce its eco-footprint—two perks that will definitely appeal to your environmentally-conscious attendee.

MEDIUM-CAPACITY & BOUTIQUE

In addition to the plethora of large convention Seattle hotels well-suited to meetings, there are several medium-capacity and boutique properties that will make an attendee’s stay in Seattle one to remember.

Hyatt at Olive 8 is a stunning option for in-house meetings boasting 12,000 square feet of smart, tech-savvy space. With 346 rooms and 15 suites, the city’s first LEED-certified hotel goes to great lengths to make the attendee feel good about their Seattle stay by continuously reducing their carbon footprint, offering its own spa, Elaia, and restaurants like the sleek and modern Urbane.

The 229-room Charter Hotel Seattle opened in 2018.  This hotel, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, offers 10,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space while highlighting some of the city’s best assets. For instance, the hotel’s indoor-outdoor bar, The Fog Room, features rooftop views of the Puget Sound and wall art showcasing maps of downtown to “help guests orient their adventures as they seek local experiences.”

In March 2019, the historic Eitel Building at Second and Pike, only 90 steps from Pike Place Market, reopened as The State Hotel, a boutique option with 91-rooms. Developers began restoring the gorgeous building, built in 1904, preserving the brick façade while adding a modern eighth story for penthouse suites, a common deck, and on the ground floor, the restaurant Ben Paris. You can’t miss the unique hotel either—on the west side of the building is a striking, five-story mural by Shepard Fairey, and inside, The State Hotel is decorated in tasteful, mid-century modern flair.

No matter if you’re looking to host with large hotels or small boutiques, Seattle has a mix of properties that can fit any meeting budget or style. And, with spacious in-house meeting rooms, top-tier restaurants, rooftop bars, and more—Seattle’s hotels go above and beyond to keep your attendee comfortable, entertained, and engaged.
