Pier to Pier

Stroll the 1.5-mile stretch of Seattle’s waterfront, which completes improvements at the end of June, to soak up the city’s sublime weather and gorgeous views of Elliott Bay. TRIP TIP: Plan for at least two hours to walk and enjoy stops along the waterfront.

Pier 54

Ogle the quirky oddities and unique souvenirs at Ye Olde Curiosity Shop (yeoldecuriosityshop.com), and stop for classic clam chowder or fish and chips at Ivar’s Acres of Clams (*ivars.com).

Pier 55

Board an Argosy Cruises (*argosycruises.com) boat for a tour around the harbor or an all-day excursion to the engaging Native cultural destination Tillicum Village on Blake Island.

Pier 57

Find family-friendly eateries with ample outdoor seating at Miners Landing (*minerslanding.com), plus the Seattle Great Wheel (*seattlegreatwheel.com) and its 42 enclosed gondolas that spin skyward for sweeping views of the city, mountains, and Elliott Bay.

Pier 59

Furry otters, glowing jellyfish, and prickly sea urchins make Seattle Aquarium (*seattleaquarium.org) an all-ages destination along the water. Time it right to catch one of the aquarium’s daily feedings or scuba dives.

Pier 66

A seafood standard in Seattle, Anthony’s (*anthonys.com) offers marina-side seats in a casual-yet-elegant setting. The classic menu features everything from Dungeness crab cakes to applewood-grilled filet mignon.

Pier 70

AQUA by El Gaucho (*elgaucho.com/aqua-by-el-gaucho), revered for its outdoor deck overlooking the water, serves impeccable steak and seafood. Meanwhile, the abstract art of Olympic Sculpture Park (*seattleartmuseum.org) is always a showstopper.
