Although the majority of the vineyards for Washington’s 900-plus wineries are located on the eastern side of the state, that doesn’t keep the roughly 50 wineries and tasting rooms within Seattle city limits from pouring sublime vino for your enjoyment.

Seattle Urban Wineries (seattleurbanwineries.com) includes more than 20 artisan wineries and tasting rooms. Eight Bells Winery (6213 Roosevelt Way NE; 8bellswinery.com) samples its nautical-themed wines in Ravenna, while Robert Ramsay Cellars (1629 Queen Anne Ave N; robertramsaycellars.com) pours its latest single-varietal, Rhône-style wines from its Queen Anne station.

To sip from many wineries in one place, head to the Wines of Washington Tasting Room (1924 Post Alley; winesofwashington.com) outside the famed Pike Place Market. It serves as a co-op of local flare and flavors from eight featured wineries.

Continue south to SoDo, where a 2.5-mile radius is a hotbed of Washington wine. Some must-trys here are Elsom Cellars (2960 Fourth Ave S; elsomcellars.com) and its Malbec-forward wines and the massive House of Smith Jet City (*1136 S Albro Pl; houseofsmith.com), complete with bombastic wines sampled next to Boeing Field’s active runways.
